Chinese Traditional Food and Copenhagen, Denmark

I believe, most people will miss their hometown food a lot whenever it is and wherever they travel to. That's how my friends and me acted when we were in Copenhagen, although the Chinese restaurants in foreign countries seems very old and traditional in the past. We still can not forget and remember the taste of many famous and daily dishes, such as Kung Pao Chicken.Fish Flavored Pork Slices, and Cabbage with Sweet and Sour Sauce, etc. So we couldn't help stepping into the Chinese restaurant and find back the familiar taste in our mind.

The restaurant is called ShiJi JiuLou which means Global Restaurant. There, you can see round tables which can seat 7 or more people. And there is a big, long platform serving buffet. But we did not order buffet because it is better to order dishes that you like, if you know.

Yu Xiang Rou Si, which is also called as Fish Fragrance Pork Shreds, is one of the most famous of all Sichuan dishes. However, it requires the use of an ingredient unfamiliar to most Western cooks: Dried Cloud Ear, also known as Wood Ear fungus. This, I believe, is one of the most popular dishes in Chinese people's dining-table or in Chinese restaurant. A lot of kids are in favor of Fish Fragrance Pork Shreds. However, in this restaurant in Copenhagen, I think the taste and the looking are not as good as in China according to my awareness. But at least you can try; it is still good.

This dish is called Cu Liu Bai Cai in Chinese, which is sauteed cabbage with vinegar with sauce. It is a simple vegetarian dish, a well known Lu Chai (鲁菜) from Shandong (山東) region in China where it is famous for the production of good quality vinegar. The vinegar that is often used in Chinese home dishes is different from other countries'. Other countries' vinegar is white, for example, most vinegar in America is white vinegar as I know. However, the vinegar in our country is black. As for myself, I like it a lot. Especially, we use it to company dumplings since it tastes better. What's more, it is a little spicy in this dish. If you don't like spicy food, you can always tell the server not to put chili or pepper in it. Also, this is one of my favorite Chinese food as I like black vinegar so much.

A bowl of hot noodle soup topped with tender braised beef is an absolutely satisfying comfort dish. So, I'm introducing another Chinese traditional cuisine to you which is called Chinese beef noodle soup. Chinese cooks often put some slices of beef on the top of noodle. They put some cut green onion in the soup in the end. In fact, beef noodle soup was first created by the Hui people (a Chinese Muslim ethnic group) during the Tang Dynasty of China, which is the place where I live in in nowadays. I can say that I am able to eat the traditional and authentic Chinese beef noodle soup every time. That makes me feel happy.

Speaking of Copenhagen, it is a place where there are a lot of scenery and cuisine that is worth a try. Copenhagen is located in Denmark's largest island Zealand island. A small part of the city is located in Armagh Miguel island. Please note, Copenhagen and Copenhagen County are two different things. It is not part of Copenhagen Copenhagen County, but an independent city.

Copenhagen has been selected as the "most livable city" and give "Best Design City" evaluation by UN. The country's major food, shipbuilding, machinery, electronics and other industries are mostly concentrated here; many important international conferences in the world are held in this area.

We took a boat and made a one-hour tour. During this tour, we saw the famous statue in Denmark which is called The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid is a bronze statue by Edvard Eriksen, depicting a mermaid. The sculpture is displayed on a rock by the waterside at the Langelinie promenade in Copenhagen, Denmark. And is 1.25 metres tall and weighs 175 kilograms. Indeed, it is cold there, but it makes you feel comfortable because it is super wet.
