Hot pot is very popular in China which is also a very tradition way to eat a variety of vegetables and meat together. In ancient China, the hot pot first appeared a million years ago, which is unbelievable. Hot pot also exists in other country in East Asia, such as Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia.

It consists of a simmering metal pot of stock at the center of the dining table. When the hot pot is kept simmering, ingredients are placed into the pot and are cooked at the table. There are a lot of choice for people to put dishes in the hot pot, for example:thinly sliced meat, leaf vegetables, mushrooms, wontons, egg dumplings, and seafood. People often put some sauce into their bowl and pour a spoon of soup on it. After the dishes are ready to eat, they use chopsticks to put in the bowl and eat them with sauce. Hot pot meals are usually eaten in the winter during supper time.

When Chinese people have hot pot, they often put all the dishes around the hot pot so that it is convenient to take the dish into the pot and easy to eat. In China, there are two sizes of hot pot. One is big size for all of people on the table to eat,

and the other is small size for only one person to eat.

As I know, Chinese often like hot pot a lot. They either go to the restaurant or make hot pot themselves at home, especially. It is very easy for people to eat at home. All they need is to buy some raw materials that they prefer to eat such at vegetables and sliced meat.

What I think the most important thing about eating hot pot is not only the freshness of the dishes prepared for hot pot, but also the sauce both in the soup of the pot and in the bowl. Those are very important for the taste on the whole.
